Cherish Cakes Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions.

Ordering Process

6-12 months’ notice is required for wedding cakes, although many couples book at least 1 year ahead. At least 1 weeks’ notice for celebration cakes is required. From time to time, I can accept short notice orders dependant on availability, so please do get in touch.  All orders will be confirmed in writing. An order confirmation will be emailed to the client.  I will produce your cakes exactly as wrote on your order confirmation. Please double check it is detailed as required.

Designs

I do accept bespoke cake orders.  I am happy to use other cake pictures as inspiration but prefer to come up with an original design for each cake I make. I cannot make models of copyright protected characters e.g. Disney characters however licensed figures can be used as part of a design. When attending a wedding consultation, it is ideal that you bring along pictures of the cake that you would like, however I am also able to provide images and ideas for inspiration. If possible, please bring colour swatches to your consultation.

Serving Sizes

The number of servings for your cake will be stated on your order confirmation. This is based on
a 1x2” slice unless otherwise stated.

Consultations and Samples

Consultations are currently carried out through zoom or telephone meetings and samples can be ordered from my website. Please check for availability as samples are only made on selected dates throughout the year.

Delivery

You can request a change from collection to delivery after the order has been placed, subject to delivery fees and availability.

For weddings delivery is included within a 10-mile radius of Charfield and is based on an hourly rate of £25 an hour for travel after that. This will be included in my quote. Cherish Cakes will need the name of the contact person at the venue for the time of delivery. The contact person will be required to sign a confirmation that the cake has been received. Once the cake has been collected or delivered, set-up, and signed for Cherish Cakes will not be held responsible for any interference or damage to the cake.

For celebration cakes collection from Cherish Cakes is free and delivery fees apply dependent on distance to location.

See website for more details.

Set-up

For weddings set up is included in my price. I prefer, where possible, to set up your cake myself so that I know it is exactly as you require. If the cake is to be set up by staff at the venue, Cherish Cakes will explain how the cake is to be displayed and obtain a signature to verify that that has been completed. Please make sure the address and post code for your venue is correct on your order confirmation.

Set up is not included for celebration cakes.

Cake Cutting

I do not provide a cake cutting service.  Cake cutting guides can be provided if requested. You will need to use the cutting guides provided to get promised servings from the ordered cake.

Cake Display

You will be responsible for the location of the cake. You will be responsible for a stable and levelled cake presentation table upon which the cake is to be displayed. Summer day conditions or high levels of central heating or open fires can melt chocolate, fresh cream and buttercream covered cakes and if you choose to order such ingredients Cherish Cakes cannot be held responsible for any mishaps.

Cakes requiring fresh floral arrangements.

Cherish Cakes can liaise with your florist however you will be responsible for ordering any flowers that you require to dress your cake and cake table from your florist, if relevant. Please do not presume there will be spares from your other wedding flowers.

Quantities and type of flower will be discussed during your consultation.

All flowers provided by your florist must be classed as non-toxic. I will check in with the florist prior to the wedding to obtain a full written list of flowers that will be provided for the cake. If I find that flowers are classed as toxic, I will let the florist know that I cannot apply them to the cake and arrange an alternative with them. Any issues on the day can be avoided by the florist providing a list of appropriate flowers and not changing what is provided on the day. I reserve the right not to add any toxic flowers/greenery that are provided by your florist.

I ask for all flowers provided by florists to be provided loose, in water. I will use food safe wire, tape and cake picks to insert the flowers so that the cake is protected from any sap/moisture. I will also wash the flowers and dry them to avoid any risk of pesticides transferring onto the cake.

I will not apply flowers that have already been wired and taped by your florist as I cannot guarantee that the tape and wire used is food safe.

Alternatively, I can provide flowers from reputable UK edible flower growers if you would prefer. There is an additional fee for this. Edible flowers are classed as food safe however they do not last as long in warm weather so this would need to be considered for setting up times. These flowers are also available as seasonal therefore this should be discussed at your consultation.

Hired equipment.

Cherish Cake Stands are available for use. With a £100 deposit for milk glass stands, pedestals and log slice stands. The deposit will not be returned if the stand is damaged or marked in any way. Stands will be delivered with the cake, but it will be your responsibility to return it to me in good condition within a mutually agreed timescale. If you are unable to return the stand, I charge a £25 collection fee for venues within 30 minutes of my address and £50 for venues within 1 hour. We will discuss this during your consultation.

Allergies

It cannot be guaranteed that Cherish Cakes will be free from allergens however all allergens in the cake will be stated on the order delivery form given to the venue. You are responsible for informing your guests of any allergy information accordingly and Cherish Cakes cannot be held liable for any allergic reaction resulting from consumption of the cake where all information has been provided.

Quality and storage of your cake

Usually Cherish Cakes should be stored at room temperature. If other storage is necessary, this instruction will be given on delivery. For Weddings, the cake should be safe to consume for up to 2 days following the event providing it does not contain fresh cream. If it does contain fresh cream, it should be kept refrigerated and I would advise consuming within 2 hours of displaying. After which it is customer’s discretion and therefore, becomes their responsibility.

See order details for Christmas Cakes and Classic Cakes recommended length of storage.

Right of Withdrawal

Cherish Cakes has the right of withdrawal for any placed orders due to contributing factors e.g., non-payment, non-cooperation, unreasonable changes to the order etc. Hopefully this will not occur but if it does then refund will be negotiable.

Right to the photographs of the cake

Cherish Cakes keeps the irrevocable and unrestricted right to use and publish photographs of the customer’s cake or pictures in which they may be included. For, e.g., advertising, display, website and internet promotion, photographic contests, public display, cake industry publications, studio display, television advertising, magazine advertising.
